Yukun Shi is an Associate Professor in Finance with Data Analytics and the School Associate Director of Research (PGR) at the University of Glasgow's Adam Smith Business School. Since September 2022, he has been a key figure in academic leadership and research. Beyond Glasgow, Professor Shi also contributes as an External Examiner of Finance Programmes at the University of Sussex.

His leadership extends to professional organizations, where he is the President-Elect (2025-) of the Chinese Economic Association (CEA) UK/Europe, having served on its Executive Board since 2020. He's also been the Director of Asian Liaison for the International Finance and Banking Society (IFABS) since 2016 and previously advised Durham University's Appointment Committee in 2018.

Professor Shi is highly engaged in academic publishing as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies (since 2021) and Nature: Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (since 2023). He also sits on the Editorial Board of Carbon Neutrality (since 2022). His extensive research focuses on key areas including sustainable finance, big data analytics and financial technology, derivatives and quantitative finance, empirical asset pricing and financial markets, and corporate finance and banking.
